At The Movies: Doomsday by Christopher Boyle
Doomsday is basically a mish-mash combination of a number of various movies, and the resulting concoction adds up to far less than the sum of its parts. Director Neil Marshall's rip-off...um, excuse me, I mean "homage to" various beloved movies of his youth starts out promising enough, but soon just dissolves into a stew of stupidity and the dreaded "been there, done that" syndrome.

Glazing over the Grocery Bills by Janene Mascarella
Sometimes I feel if I take another trip to the grocery store, I'm going to scream. Then when I look at how much we spent in a month on bread, milk, eggs and a zillion other items--I feel faint. Seems like I spend most of my time wandering up and down the isles hunting for new snacks to pack for the kids' lunch. And taking them with me on my weekly excursion is no picnic. I land out spending way more than necessary as I throw items to keep them quiet. DVD's, books, toys, whatever it takes to keep them calm and happy in their car cart.

Osama Bin Laden is Dead by Joe Wallace
Have you seen the headlines about the latest Osama bin Laden tape? The figure on the audiotape is supposedly bin Laden, at least in the minds of the geniuses at Al Jazeera television. Why these broadcasters continue to give airtime to these audio missives is beyond me. This crap is news?

Yankees’ Staff Looking Shaky as Season Set to Begin by Joe Pietaro
All the questions could have been avoided if the Yankees just pulled the trigger on the most obvious of needs and make the deal for lefthanded starter Johan Santana. The two-time American League Cy Young Award winner and arguably the game’s best pitcher was dangled by Minnesota general manager Bill Smith during the Winter Meetings in Nashville. After failing to come to an agreement on a contract extension with him, the Twins practically begged someone to make them a reasonable offer for Santana. Not as many clubs lined up as one would have expected.

Why Do We Care So Much about Celebrity Pregnancies? by Laura Rupert
Pregnancy is beautiful and people feel a connection to expecting women. Add to the equation a celebrity and you have millions of interested people worldwide wanting to know every little detail. It is probably because of the added scrutiny from paparazzi that celebrity women wait to announce their pregnancies until they are in the third trimester. Even when women are obviously pregnant (think J. Lo and Angelina Jolie), they avoid the obvious and carry on as if they weren’t pregnant.
